The truth about true hydraulic expanding arbors

It seems everyone is a victim of fake news these days so maybe it was just a matter of time before it happened to us at Euro-Tech Corporation.

It came to our attention recently that one of our competitors is stating on their website: “Hydraulic Expanding Mandrels – Many competitors offer a brazed or welded solution for the expanding mandrels. These arbors lose grease or oil over the actuator seal just like the sealed mandrels that “WE” provide. To bleed and refill “OUR” Hydraulic Expanding Mandrel, please follow the simple instructions that came with the mandrel. In order to have a brazed mandrel refilled, you must send it back to that providers special refill facility.”

The truth is while “grease arbor” manufacturers would like to claim that a brazed tool such as those produced by MyTEC lose pressure over time and must be refilled by an authorized repair facility like Euro-Tech or the factory, nothing can be farther from the truth. With no sleeve seals to leak, even under extreme conditions such as actuation without a workpiece, a brazed arbor is capable of hundreds of thousands of trouble-free actuations.  Should a hydraulic service become necessary, this is a service that can occur “on-site” as well as in Menomonee Falls, WI  in just a couple of days, and if necessary, within  24 hours depending on the availability of our technician.

Don’t believe what others claim.
